The effect of vacuum induction furnace smelting process of high nitrogen steel
Restriction of nitrogen application is an important factor in the smelting of steel. Since nitrogen is gas elements, low solubility in the steel, the high nitrogen steel smelting usually adopt pressurized electroslag remelting and counter pressure casting process to complete, there are other USES the hot isostatic pressing melting, pressurized induction melting and powder metallurgy method, the smelting process all need special equipment, the high cost. How to take economic effective method for smelting high nitrogen steel has been closely watched.
Recently proposed by Chinese academy of sciences metal directly using vacuum induction furnace smelting high nitrogen steel technical route. In this process, with no positive pressure, could refine the nitrogen content in about 0.5% of the high nitrogen steel, and can effectively control the content of impurity elements in steel. Are currently in the process of high nitrogen steel vacuum induction furnace smelting various influence factors for further research.
A. The influence of alloy elements on the nitrogen content. The nitrogen solubility in the ferroalloy solution are greatly influenced by other alloy components. Different alloy on the nitrogen solubility in the steel has the effect of different coefficient, Cr, Mn, Mo, V, Nb elements such as increase the solubility of nitrogen, and elements such as Ni, Cu, Si, C reduce nitrogen solubility. With the activity coefficient can effectively measure of various elements on the influence of the nitrogen solubility in molten steel. According to the present the experimental results, adding chrome or manganese steel can effectively improve the nitrogen solubility.
